Description
OWP research staff
provide assistance with planning various types of
studies associated with investigating and
remediating contaminated soils and groundwater. Our
specific services have included defining the problem
and study goals and specifying the methodology for
data collection and assessment.

Soil Chemical Background Study

The Santa Susana Field Laboratory is located
30 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles
in southeastern Ventura County. A former
rocket engine test and nuclear research
facility, the 2,849-acre field laboratory is
the focus of a comprehensive environmental
investigation and cleanup program, conducted
by Boeing, the United States Department of
Energy, and the National Aeronautics and
Space Administration, and overseen by the
Department of Toxic Substances Control. OWP
has been contracted to provide technical
assistance to DTSC with issues relating to
statistics and data analysis as required
throughout the project.
